Acquisition of a paper factory in Mysków
Schumacher Packaging takes over a paper factory in Mysków, Poland. With an investment of around EUR 100 million, the factory is converted from newspaper production to corrugated cardboard production by 2019. The strategic goal: complete self-sufficiency in the supply of raw materials. Schumacher Packaging ranks third on the packaging market in Poland with its five production sites there.
Processing and storage capacity doubles
Schumacher Packaging doubles its processing and storage capacity at the Greven corrugated board plant, which only opened in 2014, with an investment of €30 million.
The display plant in Breda, the Netherlands, relocates to a neighbouring site and, in doing so, triples its production area.
Schumacher Packaging expands its range of services in special and composite packaging as well as co-packing. The Group acquires three packaging service providers: Konverdi and Konverdi Copacking in Lehrte as well as Nypack in Nýrsko, Czech Republic.
Senior Director, Wulf Schumacher, who shaped the successful history of the family company for over 50 years, dies in July, aged 78.
